| The FIVIMS framework has included the enabling mechanisms to support the implementation of the FIVIMS. The following enabling mechanisms will propel and likewise concretize FIVIMS effort: Capacity development Technical constraints and lack of infrastructure are concerns that should be addressed to support the implementation of the FIVIMS. The FIVIMS as an information system is envisioned to maximize the use of the information technology as a means to gather information, analyze the data, interpret and share accurate, reliable, quality and timely information. Trainings on information technology should be undertaken. The FIVIMS implementers, including the Technical Sub-committee members must be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills on computer-based analytical tools such as Geographic Information System (GIS), vulnerability analysis, data handling, information sharing and networking, IT systems such as the KIDS, KIMS. Skills enhancement on web-based and interactive data sharing that would allow reliable, and accurate analysis and interpretation is necessary for timely and relevant information generation and reporting. Other trainings relevant to FIVIMS include technical report and popular writing, web-page design and development, and other computer software applications and programming. Along with the advances on computer skills (hardware, software and system development) it is necessary to upgrade the IT infrastructure to enhance FIVIMS activities. |
